Seamless aluminum gutters formed on site, with leaf guards. Most elevations around here ship without gutters at all, which sends roof runoff straight down against a foundation that is still settling in its first two years.
Old walls, old doors
Plenty of south side homes were built before drywall was standard, and mounting into plaster and lath or solid brick takes different anchors and roughly twice the labor. That is why masonry is a separate line on our quote rather than a surprise on the day. Garage doors are the other pattern — anything installed before 1993 has no photo-eye sensors, so an opener replacement here often means adding safety hardware the original install never had. In-wall cable concealment frequently is not possible in these walls, so we price an external raceway instead.

Roof runoff falling straight down against a foundation is the main cause of soil movement in the first years after construction, and this region's clay soils move a lot. Gutters route it away.
